Lost in Texas

Hide yo daughters, hide yo sons, hide yo dawgs.

4.27.2011

Since yesterday was apparently the first day of spring in New York, we took off for a little pre-dinner ambulation in Prospect Park. To stimulate the appetite and what not. It was lovely, and then we saw a giant raccoon digging through the muck around the dog pond. In broad daylight. Five feet away from an old guy taking a picture of it with his iPhone.

Can you say rabies three times fast? All Lauren could say was "It's so big!" but she says that a lot if you know what I'm saying.

After Lauren was done yelping and hopping around on her feet, we decided to be responsible and look into reporting this unusual sighting to someone who might care. I don't think that the city pays for park rangers anymore. So just watch out for wild beasts that might be carrying a deadly disease through our borough's greatest park.
